Browning Tactical Hunter 160 LED Flashlight

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

I am a big fan of Browning flashlights and currently have seven different Browning’s.

My most recent acquisition is the “Tactical Hunter 160″ where the 160 indicates the amount of  lumens generated.

It runs on a single CR123A lithium battery, is 4.10 inches long, and features aluminum construction.  The tail cap switch has momentary-on capability but is not recessed so the light can’t stand on its tail. The switch also has a lock-out feature to prevent accidental operation.

As its name implies, Browning designed this as a hunting flashlight; therefore, they have given it a Mossy Oak camouflage finish.  They also provide 3 lens filters (red, green, & blue) for blood tracking, and other hunting uses.

One of my favorite features of this light is the pocket clip. It is designed for extremely low pocket carry and is barely noticeable in one’s pocket.  This low carry capability makes the light less likely to disappear from one’s pocket accidently.

I believe that Browning no longer offers this particular model, i.e. it isn’t shown on their company website, but I was able to get mine from here and at a great price.

One other thing I should mention is that the lens provides a focused square beam rather than a circular beam. While I don’t consider this to be a draw back others might.
