Pelican L4 LED Flashlight – Model 1830

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

For those looking for a nice little pen light, I just added the Pelican L4.

This LED flashlight comes in black and yellow but I currently only have the black version available.

Overall length is 6.2″ and since it is made from Xenoy it weighs around a 1/2 an ounce without batteries.  Adding the 3 AAAA batteries still only brings its weight up to 1.2 ounces.

Be sure you read that last sentence correctly because this light uses AAAA not AAA batteries, and AAAA batteries can be harder to locate when it is time to replace the batteries.

Alkaline batteries come with the L4 and should provide around 50 hours of light.

It should be pointed out that Pelican went for run time over brightness level so the L4 only puts out 8 lumens of light.  However, this is plenty of illumination for close up work.

As with a lot of Pelican flashlights it has some approval ratings for different working environments.

The pocket clip is not removeable because it is molded to the body.

If you like a momentary feature on your lights, Pelican has provided a tail cap switch with both on/off and momentary on capability.

Pelican MityLite Plus 2AA Yellow Flashlight

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

The black version of this flashlight has been popular so I just added the bright yellow version to my site.

This flashlight runs on 2 AA batteries as its name implies and features a high intensity Xenon bulb.  It has a pocket clip built into the corrosion resistant Xenoy housing.

It also features a tailcap switch that provides both momentary on and constant on/off capability.

As with a lot of Pelican flashlights it is rated for certain hazardous conditions.
